Training
Projects are complete and meet their objectives only when change management is handled effectively. Formulating the strategy is the first and the most critical step in implementing a change management methodology. A robust change management strategy sets the stage for effective change management and project success. A "one-size-fits-all" approach is not effective for change management. The strategy needs to be drawn based on the actual needs at various levels, their readiness, the need for change and its criticality to the success of the project, etc. The strategy provides direction and results for informed decision making throughout the change process. A well-formulated strategy really brings the project or change to life, describing who and how it will impact in the organization.
The change management strategy should address the following

- Situational awareness
- Change characteristics – How many, who will be impacted, etc
- Organizational attributes – How does the Organization as a whole react to the change
- Impacted groups – What would be the impact on different groups, etc
- Supporting structure
- Team structure – Creation of a team which shall address the Change Management Strategy
- Strategy analysis
- Risk assessment
- Anticipated resistance
The change management plan would essentially cover the following,
- Communication plan : A structured communication plan, based on best practices, presents the right message, at the right time, in the right format or channel, that comes from the right sender
- Coaching plan: Coaching takes place between the employees and their direct supervisor. The managers and supervisors in an organization play a critical role in successful change.
- Training plan: Training is an intervention to build skills and capabilities. In addition to communication, training is probably the most common of the change management plans. The change manager's role in training is to identify the skills and capabilities that are needed, any gaps that exist and the training requirements.
- Resistance management plan: While resistance to any change is a natural reaction, there are steps that organizations and managers can take to prevent and mitigate the impact of resistance. Some might be surprised to see resistance management planning on the same level as communication and training.
Change Management Team
The first and the crucial step in Change Management is constituting a team that shall forefront the exercise. Sryas facilitates its customers in identifying and creating a Change Management Team that will serve as the project/training/change initiators/ coordinators through the entire lifecycle. As part of this effort, members of the Change Management Team will be responsible for coordinating all training, training schedule and related logistics, communication etc.
Approach
- Training is ensured to be an interactive, two-way communication process.
- Combined classroom training with hands on training. Training will not consist of inputs only, but would also draw on participants’ experiences, enable reflection on those experiences and create capabilities for change
- Application / process break-down approach, allowing flexibility for participants to choose only those areas that are relevant for their work
- Training techniques adopted to suit the level and need of participants
- Training User Names and passwords will be provided for each training station
- The Training Database will be pre-populated with close to realistic information to support training activities
Methods
- Formal presentations with the use of audio-visual aids.
- Hands-on exercises
- Self Learning Modules
- The presentations and the screen shots with adequate help shall be made available to the users
- The training environment shall be available for users to operate upon for the specified period.
Training Programs
The training programs are broadly classified into two categories,
- Train the Trainer
- End user Training
Train the Trainer
This program is designed for the core team members who are identified during project initiation. These members are trained on the business processes/solutions who then double up as the Internal Trainers and carry the mantle of implementation facilitation across the Organization.
End User Training
End user training is provided to all employees who would use the proposed solution or who would form a part of the transformation process. These users are given end to end training and monitored in using the live application or implemented process.
